Recently, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a notice of proposed rulemaking aimed at developing a new federal standard for small, high-powered magnet sets due to concerns over injuries to children. We are aware that this may have created confusion and concerns about magnetic toys. Geomag is different. Here's what you need to know about Geomag.
About Geomag
Geomagworld SA created the popular, award-winning magnetic construction toy of the same name in 1999. Geomag consists of magnetic rods, which, when combined with non-magnetic spheres (balls) and plastic panels, allow the creation of unlimited structures. The rods are composed of a central metal spine with a Neodymium magnet at each end. The rod and magnets are then over-molded with a special, non-toxic plastic. The spheres (balls) do NOT contain magnets.
Geomag is manufactured in compliance with stringent European and American safety standards in Novazzano, Switzerland. Geomag products have passed the industry standards set by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) in the United States. ASTM International is one of the largest voluntary standards development organizations in the world. ASTM guidelines are accepted and followed by virtually every manufacturer in the U.S. toy industry.
